Hangzhou-Haining inter-city railway and Hangzhou-Deqing inter-city light-rail projects had a total mileage of 73 kilometers and a total investment of 23.6 billion yuan.
A few days ago, the co-investment agreement of the Hangzhou-Deqing Inter-city Light-rail Project was signed in Hangzhou. On the provincial comprehensive transportation construction investment and financing agreement signing convention, Hangzhou metropolitan circle inter-city railroad project was also in the list, among others, Hangzhou-Haining inter-city railway and Hangzhou-Deqing inter-city light-rail projects had a total mileage of 73 kilometers and a total investment of 23.6 billion yuan.
Before this, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission (DRC) had just approved the feasibility reports of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing and Hangzhou-Haining inter-city railroad projects. It was worthy of being noticed that after the Hangzhou-Shaoxing and Hangzhou-Haining inter-city railroads put into use, the seamless docking between the cities will be realized, either by adopting the same transportation pass, or by combining the train ticket fare with the subway fare in Hangzhou.
“After the completion of Hangzhou-Haining inter-city railway, the Haining Leather Market will be closely connected to the Hangzhou Wulin square, so that we will go shopping in Hangzhou by taking a subway.” said Wang Xueliang, a resident of the Changtian community, Xiashi sub-district area, Haining.
Early this year, the State Council approved the Hangzhou General Plan (2001-2020) (revised in 2016). In the Plan, the idea was put forward that centering with the Hangzhou urban railway network, eight lines radiate to Haining, Tongxiang, Anji, Deqing, Lin’an, Fuyang, Tonglu, Zhuji, and Keqiao. It was also simplified as “one center, eight radiations.”
Hangzhou-Lin’an, Hangzhou-Fuyang inter-city railroads are under construction, while that from Hangzhou to Shaoxing is scheduled to start within the year, so will that between Hangzhou and Haining.
If the inter-city railroads have encircled tighter and tighter the Hangzhou metropolitan circle, the commuter bullet trains between Hangzhou and Deqing, and Zhuji have enlarged the diameter of urban life. Jenny Shen from Zhuji said that with the commuter train,“it will be easy to work in Hangzhou during the day and have dinner at the home. Half an hour commuting is very convenient.”
